A provincial standard of hollow glass to be issued

It is learnt from Jinan Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision that the Shangdong provincial standard of “Equipment of sealed insulating glass unit”, which is approved by Shangdong Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and drafted by Jinan Institute of Product Quality Supervision & Inspection, is under discussion and is about to be submitted for approval.

The sealed insulating glass (hollow glass) has the following functions: sound insulation, heat insulation, antisweat and cost reduction. It is widely used in industries of construction, transportation, cold preservation and so on. Hollow glass is one of the energy-conserving materials and is mandated to apply to tall buildings, leading to the rapid development of the sealed insulating glass as an energy-conserving material. However, there is no standard for hollow glass equipment, resulting in irregular quality and blocking the development of products.

After receiving the task for drafting the standard, Jinan Institute of Product Quality Supervision & Inspection attached great importance to it, organizing a panel to make researches, adding safety indexes referring energy conservation and environment protection, and verifying the realizability of all the indexes. All the efforts are made to assure the advantages of the standard.

The second draft has been sent to the related companies and scientific institutions. So far, according to more than 20 feedbacks, most of the contents of the standard meet the requirements.
