Wooster Glass Co. founder dies

The city lost another icon when Ralph Jones, 94, founder of the Wooster Glass Co., [Wooster, Ohio] died Friday [Nov. 5] night.

Jones, a glazier, left Cleveland in 1947 looking for a brighter future in Wooster. He borrowed $750 from his brother-in-law, Robert Blosser, and ended up building a Wooster institution. The company was named a Business of the Year by the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, and he was a Chamber Wall of Fame honoree, according to a Nov. 8 report in The Daily Record.
