China's Ministry of Finance said Monday export tax rebates on a range of goods including labor-intensive goods as well as some mechanical and electronic products will rise to between 9% and 14% from Dec. 1.
As a part of government efforts to help labor-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises deal with weakening global demand, the announcement of the hike is the third time China has increased export tax rebates this year. The rebates will apply to 3,770 goods, or about 27.9% of China's total exports.
The export tax rebate for glassware will rise from 5% to 11%, while the rebate for vacuum flask will rise to 13%.
