Imports into Belarus glass and glass from June 1 will be licensed

Imports into Belarus polished sheet glass and glass from outside the common customs territory of the Customs Union on June 1, 2014 will be licensed. Such a decision is contained in Resolution of Council of Ministers № 468 of May 16 this year , the press service of the Belarusian government.

Decision was taken in accordance with Article 8 of the Agreement on the introduction and application of measures affecting foreign trade in goods, the common customs territory in relation to third countries.

One-time license to import glass and glass will give the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of Belarus in the same order established by the agreement of the licensing rules in the field of foreign trade in goods in respect of the products, which are subject to prohibitions or restrictions on the importation or exportation of CU members within the EEC in trade with third countries. Minstroyarchitecture will issue them if the ministry with the organization - producer of cement, glass and glass signed an agreement on the conditions of supply to Belarus products. These agreements must be set volumes (quotas) supply and low prices. To obtain a license foreign trade contracts (agreements) should include supplies of cement, glass and glass in the country at prices not less than the minimum price set by agreements on the conditions of supply of these materials.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus should notify the Eurasian Economic Commission for innovation and to introduce ECE proposal to apply the other members of the Customs Union measures adopted similar in Belarus.

Decision enters into force on 1 June 2014 and is valid until November 30.
