Post Time:Jul 03,2014Classify:Company NewsView:324

AGC Glass Company North America announced it will consolidate its fabrication capabilities in Jacksonville, Fla., into the company’s 200,000-plus-square-foot facility in Lithia Spring, Ga., in the Atlanta area.

The move, which is expected to be completed no later than the fourth quarter of 2014, will bring all processes under one roof. According to the company, the new Lithia Spring plant is equipped to effectively manage a high volume of glass production for commercial and residential markets.

According to AGC, the consolidation will allow customers in the Florida market and throughout the southeast easier access to all AGC fabricated products, including heavy glass fabrication, spandrel, fire-rated glazing solutions and laminated glass.

AGC continues to make investments in our people and is upgrading its equipment in a number of locations,” says Michael Antonucci, North American general manager of the building and industrial products business. “Our goal is to streamline our processes and create efficiencies that support a high level of quality and customer satisfaction in all markets we are serving in North America.”

Sales, customer service and technical support for all Jacksonville plant customers has been handled by the Atlanta team for a number of years, and starting in late July, AGC will begin delivering to the Jacksonville customers from the Atlanta facility with no changes in the territory previously serviced.
