Reiling Unternehmensgruppe, a German recycling company, has opened a new glass recycling facility in Osterweddingen, Germany. The new facility will be operated under the name Glas Recycling GmbH & Co.
Planning and construction of the facility has taken two years. Material to be accepted at the plant includes hollow, flat glass. Additionally, the facility will be accepting PC modules and other types of glass.
The processing facility has been built in two sections, with the first section starting up in early July 2014. The line has been designed with a rated capacity of around 25 metric tons of hollow glass per hour. The second section is expected to be operational by late October, 2014, and will primarily handle flat glass and solar modules.
With the new facility Reiling says it will have nine glass recycling facilities in Europe. The company says the new plant will expand the company’s glass recycling business, reduce transportation costs and boost product quality.
