New IS machines for Brazil and Italy, machine audits in Romania and Israel, servicing across Germany – employees at GPS Glasproduktions-Service GmbH are in action worldwide. The spectrum of services ranges from innovation consulting to commissioning entire machine stocks.
With the company’s relaunch at the start of this year, GPS set “a clear signal for an innovative culture”, explained Klaus Rudolph, the company’s CEO. Through the course of this year, GPS service engineers have successfully completed contracts worldwide.
This included installing three turnkey lines with a total of six IS machines at Verallia Vetri in Gazzo Veronese, Italy. The 5 ½" machines were commissioned on schedule in three tandem lines. GPS Managing Director Wolfgang Korzak praised the “partnership between the companies throughout the project”. Tests conducted jointly with the Italian customer during the inspection and approval routine in Essen, Germany, ensured the project was completed without a hitch on site in Italy.
The contract also involved supplying a 5 ½" machine to the Verallia Porto Ferreira site in Brazil. The machine features eight stations equipped with the latest technology and safety equipment. A GPS service team was on hand to assist with installation and guarantee trouble-free commissioning of the system.
Production optimization
Business activities are currently focused on IS machine audits in Israel and Romania. At the Phoenicia Glass Works site in the Israeli town of Yerucham, GPS specialists inspected two 5" and 6" IS machines. The audit gave the customer a precise overview of the state of the systems so it can effectively plan maintenance work and future investments. Now the company intends to replace one of the stations in order to optimize production. Audits of GPS processes at SC Stirom in Romania recommended necessary repairs that will allow the customer to update production facilities to state-of-the-art standards.
GPS service engineers were also in action in Wirges and Holzminden in Germany, where they upgraded IS machines and systems to the latest technology. This work involved replacing special parts for more effective and energy-efficient operation.
Service quality
Innovative technology and extensive services are the guiding principles of the GPS team. Managing Director Wolfgang Korzak is pleased that customers in different countries have expressed their satisfaction at working with GPS.
Korzak explains “We were able to demonstrate the quality of our service, and our partners at the various plants were happy with the results”.
GPS will soon exhibit at the glasstec fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. Visitors will be able to meet the IS machine manufacturer that is committed to sustainable production with its seamless lifecycle management strategy. Between October 21 and 24, GPS will showcase its innovations in machine control systems, ergonomics, work safety and protection, production efficiency, and services.
