NEG to build China's biggest LED substrates glass factory in Xiamen

One of the 3 biggest companies in the LED substrate glass manufacturing industry in the world, the Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (NEG), will build a LED substrates glass factory in Xiamen’s Torch High-Tech Zone. An opening ceremony for the construction of the factory was held in the Torch High-Tech Zone on November 19.

With a total investment of RMB 4.14 billion, the factory will be located next to AU Optronics. The first phase of the factory will cover an area of 100mu and is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2015.

According to the General Manager of NEG, Xiamen’s convenient transportation and beautiful environment were the major reasons they chose it as their factory base.

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. is a glass manufacturer. The Company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of glass for electronic and information use, such as glass for flat panel displays (FPD) and cathode-ray tubes (CRT), optics-related glass, glass for electronic devices and solar batteries, as well as glass for other uses including glass fibers, construction glass, heat-resistant glass, glass for lighting use, medical and laboratory glass, and glass for thermos use. The Company is also engaged in the manufacture and sale of glass manufacturing equipment and refractory products, as well as inspection, packing and logistics services.
