The largest rotary vane compressor of Pneumofore used to be the F360, designed in 1964 by Mr. Jakob Hilfiker. This water-cooled machine is equipped with a 400 kW motor for 3670 m3/h capacity at 8 bar(g). The A400 compressor is a baby, compared to the F360. Still, we count now several 10.000 hours of A400 operation over three years of intense testing at customer sites. The oldest A400 unit run smooth, so did also all the following ones. The entire range from 2,5 to 10 bar(g) is now covered and the A400.4 for pressure of 2,5 to 4 bar(g) has been successfully introduced during the Pneumofore 'Hollow Glass Meeting 2014' held at our headquarters in October. Many are the applications that require large capacity at a pressure level which is too high for side channel and roots blowers, and too low for screw compressors. Considering the twin design with A400 components, we study now the A800.
