Tengzhou to rank Top 5 glass industrial bases in Shandong

Shandong Economic and Trade Committee has recently issued Suggestions on Speeding up the Adjustment of Shandong Glass Industrial Structure and Promoting the Sound and Fast Development of Shandong Glass industry, in which Tengzhou City is chosen as one of the largest glass industrial bases in Shandong.

Untill 2007, Shandong has owned 139 large-scale companies engaging in the field of flat glass, daily-used glass and deep processing. The melting capacity of furnaces reaches to 18,000 tons per day. Now, Shandong has developed five large glass industrial bases centering on Zibo, Qingdao, Weihai, Dezhou and Tengzhou.

In the base, there are 74 companies, more than 4,000 employees and 800 million yuan of annual sales revenue. The Lunan Glass Hall has enlarged for 236 companies, of which 82 deal with processing and sales with annual output of special glass 320 million square meters, and 146 are trading companies having been the agent or general agent of more than 50 glass makers all around China.

The main glass projects under construction in Tengzhou include:

• Jinzhou High-tech glass production line with 750 million yuan
• Off-site extension of Pacific glass with 250 million yuan
• Haiyuan float glass production line with 1.4 billion yuan
