Welcome to the April issue of Glass International – a bumper issue ahead of the Glassman Europe show in Lyon, France in May that contains features on the French, Indian and Mexican markets.
To celebrate France and its thriving container glass industry, we have compiled a selection of features that demonstrate the strength and diversity of the French market. This includes an overview of the Bresle Valley manufacturing hub, profiles on companies such as O-I France, SGD and Pochet du Courval, and, in the year of Saint-Gobain’s 350th year anniversary, a look back at the company’s extensive historical highlights.
India also features heavily in this month’s issue, with a review of the recent Glasspex India show, a profile on Piramal Glass, and technical articles exploring the latest findings from the industrial mega country.
April’s issue kicks off our focus on Mexico ahead of the upcoming Glassman Latin America show, which will be held in Guadalajara in September. We spoke with José Luis Vélez, Managing Director of Interglass, and also with Hector Garcia, Plant Manager of Gerresheimer’s Querétaro plant to find out more about these Mexican businesses.
Included in this month’s issue is the Glassman Europe preview and catalogue, with full details about the exhibitors coming to the show and the conference that will run alongside it. Featuring speakers from O-I, Ardagh, Stoelzle, Siemens, FEVE and Bormioli Rocco amongst others, the free-to-attend exhibition and conference is set to be a success, and we look forward to welcoming you at the Cité Centre de Congres, Lyon, on the 6th and 7th May.
This is all accompanied by our regular technical features, columns, industry news and events diary.
