In recent years, glass bonding onto building facades has been shown to outperform classical systems under severe conditions such as bomb blast, hurricanes and earthquakes. With adhesive point-fixing, some disadvantages of the bolted point-fixings can be overcome. In the automotive and the aviation industry, bonding is being used to fully transfer the strength of one piece of the assembly to the other.
In the Glass Bolding & Point-Fixing session, recent advances in glass bonded assemblies leading to improved performances or innovative applications will be presented and discussed.
