Post Time:Jun 01,2015Classify:Industry NewsView:533

From June 17 to August 23, the "Glass is Tomorrow" exhibit, the result of a project started in 2011 by the European Union, will set up shop at the National Design Museum in Stockholm. The objective? To highlight the potential of glass through 200 glass items and prototypes created in numerous European studios.

This is also a networking opportunity for designers and artisans of this age-old craft linked to certain specific regions.

The first studio involved in this project was Finland's Iittala, a studio known for its glass productions, followed by Verreum in the Czech Republic, but also Nude in Turkey and the Royal College of Art in England.

The 200 or so pieces created by around 50 European designers will be presented along with their fabrication methods at the exhibit.

"Glass is Tomorrow" has already been presented to the public at the Musée de la Mine in Saint-Étienne, France, at the Biennale International de Design, and at the Salon de Mobile in Milan via the newest creations of Nude.

After Sweden, the exhibit will travel to the London Design Festival.

"Glass is Tomorrow" will take place from June 17 to August 23, 2015, at the National Design Museum in Stockholm.
