In the Nizhny Novgorod region will produce flat glass according to European standards

With the introduction of the new GOST glass enterprises in Russia, and in particular the Nizhny Novgorod region, can produce colorless glass sheets for export.New GOST 111-2014 "Flat glass colorless. Technical conditions "introduced in Russia from April 1, 2016 by the Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) Alexei Abramov. In the Nizhny Novgorod region is already preparing the new standard work of "AGC Bor Glassworks," one of the ten leading Russian enterprises for the production of glass for various purposes.

According to Rosstandart new standard replaces the previous Standard 111-2001 "Flat glass. Technical conditions. It will apply to colorless flat glass designed for the glazing of translucent structures and fabrication of construction products, technical and household purposes - windows, mirrors, tempered and laminated glass. The same standards will be monitored by production of a new Product Sheet - glass with high light transmittance (or extra clear glass). Such glass has a high energy efficiency and can be used to collect light energy as a solar battery.

The developers of the new standard was expelled from the GOST mark glass, which today is no longer used in construction and other industries, have led to the demand of production tolerances dimensions to European standards.

According to the office of quality assurance "polished glass" JSC "AGC Bor Glassworks" glass, which will be subject to the requirements of the new standard, nothing will match world standards. With the introduction of a new standard of quality the country can reach an entirely new level and become one of the leading exporters of flat glass in the world.

According to statistics, the production of float glass in Russia in the first quarter of 2015 increased by 4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
