If heights give you the heebie-jeebies, look away now. A vertigo-inducing glass floor, alleged to be Asia's largest viewing platform, is due to open in above Karst Valley in Wulong National Geological Park, in south-west China in October, during the week the country celebrates National Day. Jutting out 26 feet from a cliff edge at Tian-Sheng-San-Qiao, the transparent ledge stands 820 feet above ground, nearly 4,000 feet above sea level, and measures 36 feet by 85 feet.

The spectacular area it looks out over is one of China's most popular scenic spots, and now a visit there will be injected with a little adrenalin, along with some astounding, unobstructed views of the valley.
Though the height and transparent nature of the platform may make some visitors nervous, each square pane has been built from three layers of reinforced glass, which means it can withstand a weight of up to 10 tonnes.
