The "Saint-Gobain" ramping up production capacity for flat glass in India.

Over the next two years the group "Saint-Gobain" plans to invest about 135 million euros in the development of production facilities in India, the largest glass complex, located near the city of Chennai.

On the territory of the enterprise plans to build a third production line for flat glass (it will be the fifth in a row line, producing float glass at the production facilities of the Group in India). It is also planned construction of the second line on the coating on the glass for buildings. The plant is planned to produce premium, high-tech types of glass, as well as energy-efficient glass. In the production process to apply the most advanced modern technology, contributing to environmental conservation.

The project will strengthen the leading position of the "Saint-Gobain" in the Indian market of flat glass, which shows a rapid growth; development of the project fits into the overall strategy of the company to build productive assets outside Western Europe.
