Lytkarino Optical Glass Factory automates the process of manufacture of tools for cooking Optics

Specialists of Russia's leading manufacturer of optical glass - JSC "Lytkarino Optical Glass Factory" (included in the holding "Schwabe") - are working on the automation of labor-intensive process - the preparation of the ceramic slurry for mixers which are used in glass melting.
Developers explained that slip - a mixture of kaolin clay, fireclay and an electrolyte on which a method of molding a plaster mold made special ceramic tool - a mixer for mixing the melt of the optical glass while it is in ceramic cooking vessels. Quality construction tool significantly reduces defect glass and optics in general.

"At the present time is determined by the performance of new technology. After testing is planned to be translated into trial operation, which will create a fully automated production line," - said in a press release.

According to the chief engineer of JSC LZOS Alexander Ignatov, today the company provides optical glass in more than 30 countries. "The share of our optical materials in the international arena is 7% of the market. In Russia, this figure is 98%. Of course, for the production of advanced products of higher grade, including large optics, it is important to improve the tools. In this regard, the company operates a continuous process of technical development ", - said Ignatiev.
