Even though most famous for the glass structures in Apple's concept stores around the world, Visiting Professor James O'Callaghan also contributed to a large amount of other projects, ranging from museums to swimming pools. During his first public event on 21 March he will introduce himself and his work.
James O’Callaghan co-founded the engineering design practiceEckersley O'Callaghan with Brian Eckersley in 2004 and is widely acknowledged as an authority on structural glass. His ongoing interest in the development of structural glass design has led to the firm’s involvement with many challenging and award-winning glass projects around the world. This was recognised in 2010 when the practice won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of Innovation.
