Ardagh’s Bridgeton facility in New Jersey achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification, the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses.
It provides the framework to help organisations minimise their impact on the environment, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and work toward continual environmental improvement.
With this recent accomplishment, there are now a total of 14 Ardagh Group facilities in North America that are ISO 14001 certified.
“The ISO 14001:2004 certification is a tremendous accomplishment for our Bridgeton facility, and further illustrates Ardagh Group’s continual commitment to our environmental responsibility,” said John Riordan, President and CEO of Ardagh Group, Glass – North America.
“This certification demonstrates our promise to provide the highest standard for environmental compliance in our manufacturing operations to our customers and suppliers.”
Built in 1966, Ardagh Group’s Bridgeton facility manufactures an assortment of glass containers for the food, beverage and spirits markets.
Bridgeton is unique to the North American glass packaging industry as the facility specialises in short-runs of distinctive products, and has the ability to offer its customers a wide variety of packaging formats including 6 packs, 12 packs, 24 packs, tray packs and bulk.
The facility also has flexible shipping capabilities for smaller quantities and a vast geographic reach.
In addition to Bridgeton’s ISO 14001:2004 certification, the facility was awarded an ENERGY STAR Plant Certification in 2015 for superior energy performance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and has been certified by the American Institute of Bakers (AIB) since 2004.
