Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America, a leading manufacturer of fire-rated glass and fire-resistant door, frame, window, and curtain wall systems in the United States, announced today the launch of Keralite® extended-sized fire-rated glass ceramic products.  The extended-size sheets increase the maximum height permissible for fire-rated windows, and are the largest fire-rated glass ceramic products available in the market.

Keralite Standard, Keralite Select and Keralite Privacy fire-rated glass sheets now are available between 47 1/4” x 95 9/16”, providing augmented daylighting options for glaziers and architects.

Specified for taller sidelights, large transoms and oversized wall openings, the extended-size sheets have been developed to provide solutions for a wide range of building and construction projects.

The new extended sized sheets yield increased functionality and address novel architectural applications. They are UL Listed and meet LEED-credit requirements for the Environmental Product Declaration and Environment Health Product Declaration.

Extensive research and development was conducted by Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America to conceptualize and begin producing the extended-size glass sheets. Advancements involved modifying equipment for production and manufacturing optimization. As a result, the expanded sizes allow for oversized and maximized square footage of fire-rated glass applications for specifiers, commercial real estate developers and construction site owners.

“The Keralite extended size glass is the newest innovative product resulting from Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America’s groundbreaking research and development,” says Lindsay Hampton, Keralite product manager. “We are pleased to introduce the market’s largest extended-size glass to our glazier partners as well as architects and other construction specifiers with substantial and distinctive projects.”

Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America will be showcasing its new Keralite fire-rated glass ceramic products in extended sizes during AIA 2016.
