IRICO Group to build PV glass production line

On the morning of January 13, 2009, photovoltaic (PV) glass project of IRICO Group Corporation, a key new energy project of Shaanxi province in 2009, formally started to be constructed. After it is completed, it will fill in the blank of sealed glass for solar cells in Shaanxi province and form the capacity of PV industry chain to provide the auxiliary items in Xi’an and Xianyang Economic Zone.

PV glass is a special glass for solar modules and an important part of solar cells. Currently, production of PV glass is still a blank in Shaanxi province.

The PV glass project is invested by IRICO Group with planned investment at 250 million yuan and expected to complete in one year. The production line is designed with a capacity of 250 t/d, an annual output of 3.2mm tempered solar PV glass at 5,026,000 square meters and other type of PV glass at 800,000 square meters. Quality of products may reach or exceed the national technical requirements for solar cell sealed glass. The project will create annual sales revenue at more than 300 million yuan and taxes at more than 40 million yuan for the local and national finance.
