Production Costs Will Increase Slightly in the Second Quarter

This benefited from a rebound in the real estate market and their urgent demand to reduce stocks. In addition, many enterprises were cautious to the glass market during the beginning of the year, and glass traders were not willing to stock up. As a result, manufacturing enterprises had many stocks around the Spring Festival.

During the first quarter, the overall situation of glass in stock was good, but different regions in China were in various conditions. The price of glass in northeast China was 200 RMB more than that of the last year. Glass prices in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region were also higher than that of the last year. The markets of balanced price performance were eastern, southwest and northwest China. Areas with bad performance of glass prices were southern and central China.

In terms of production costs, the pressure of manufacturing enterprises in the second quarter will be high. On the one hand, the environmental cost will continue to increase. On the other hand, fuel prices will not drop and sodium carbonate prices will increase quite a long time.
