H.C. Starck CEO Andreas Meier leaves group
In his new capacity, Dr Meier will continue to be available as an advisor to H.C. Starck. Dr. Meier asked the H.C. Starck Supervisory Board and assembly of shareholders to be relieved of his duties. The boards reluctantly accepted his request.
Dr. Meier started his work at H.C. Starck in February 2010 as the Group’s Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, he implemented significant initiatives and projects and contributed considerably to the positive development of the H.C. Starck Group: from the long-term supply of raw materials, to the adjustment of strategy and business models owing to the structural changes in the sales markets, to the consequently necessary restructuring and cost reductions. Through the expedited internationalization, the divisions’ stronger customer and market orientation including more decentralized responsibility, the growth projects in China and Vietnam and the recent successful securing of company financing for years to come, H.C. Starck is outstandingly positioned both nationally and internationally, and is well prepared for the future.
“We thank Dr. Meier for his services to the H.C. Starck Group, his valuable contributions and his extensive personal commitment to our company. We wish him all the best in his personal and professional future,” states Dr. Engelbert Heimes, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, who in the interim will assume the role of CEO until a successor is appointed.
