Schott Launches A New Product——Photosensitive Glass

(China Glass Network) Schott, the German special glass manufacturer, will launch a new glass product named “FORTURANII”, which is photosensitive glass. It can be used as glass substrate in semiconductor and biotechnology, characterized by easy processing.

Under the UV radiation and thermal treatment, the glass will crystallize and becomes photosensitive glass. There is no need to use photoresist and the part of crystallization can be etched with hydrofluoric. The maximum size of “FORTURANII” is 300mm (12 inches) with a round shape and 200mm with a sheet shape. Besides Schott will exhibit glass ceramic used for household appliances and ultra-thin sheet glass adopted by the phone cover for fingerprint sensor.
