China to unveil an industry standard for solar glass

As one of green energy resources, solar technology is more and more widely used and drives the development of solar glass. Solar energy applied glass is becoming one of the fastest-growing high-tech industries in the world. Therefore, insiders of glass industry start to expect a standard for the promising industry.

Recently, the first solar industry standard “Solar Glass” has passed the approval in the review conference held by China National Technical Committee of Building Glass Standardization.

After issued, the standard will greatly push the development of solar glass industry, according to Zhou Zhiwu, the Deputy Secretary-General of China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association. Companies have a standard to measure their products so as to improve their management and to bring in or develop more advanced technology.

“When appropriate, this standard will be upgraded to a higher position or even a national standard.” said Zhou Zhiwu.
