TVITEC has been awarded for its work in glazing the new Nordea Bank headquarters in Copenhagen. The award comes from Isolar, the German association of independent European glass manufacturers.

Isolar, the German association of independent European glass manufacturers, has awarded the Spanish architectural glass company Tvitec for its work in glazing the new Nordea Bank headquarters in Copenhagen (Denmark). Isolar gave Tvitec the prize regarding the best work in the category of Representative Projects 2016 during the recent convention held in Leipzig. Commercial representatives of the Spanish transformer, Recaredo Prado and Ramón Soler, collected the award and explained in accuracy the glazing details of this project.

The Nordea project, the new headquarters of one of the biggest Scandinavian banks, consist of two buildings connected by a foyer. The buildings are characterized by an innovative and challenging design with a unique façade and skylights that makes these buildings a true landmark in Copenhagen. The façade is designed in a way to highlight a random pattern expressing the magnitude of the buildings to its surroundings. The skylights consist of triple glazed units connected with a stick system on site.

Tvitec supplied over 19.000 sq.m. of architectural and high performance glass for the new headquarters. Tvitec transformed laminated and tempered glass, IGU, triple glazing and monolithic enamelled panes for this project with different glass types as low-E with solar control. Tvitec provided rectangular and squares panes, but also shapes with sizes up 2,700 x 2,500mm.

Dutch façade contractor, Scheldebouw B.V., transformed the intent of the architect into a curtain wall design consisting of a modular system of mainly 1,500 and 2,250mm panels. These panels consist of a double skin façade, with laminated glass on the outer pane and double glass on the inner pane for the vision panels, and toughened glass on the outer pane for the sprandle panels.

The award was extended to the architecture studio, Henning Larsen, and Scheldebouw BV metalframer. Henning Larsen Architects is an international architecture company with strong Scandinavian roots. They assign great importance to designing environmentally friendly and integrated, energy-efficient solutions. Tvitec is proud to cooperate with this philosophy.
