Post Time:Sep 26,2016Classify:Industry NewsView:1400

Only ten months to the start of glasstec 2016 and exhibitor registrations are already in full swing. After the official deadline for registrations has expired, stand space allocation in the exhibition halls has started. Of course, registrations continue to be accepted at the direct link - but you should not hesitate for too long because the best stand locations are very sought-after and go very quickly. Companies that already took part in 2014 can use pre-completed and editable forms.

glasstec, the world’s No. 1 trade fair for the glass sector, covers the complete value chain for glass with a unique cross-section of top-notch enterprises. 2014 saw more than 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries present themselves to an international expert audience. Boasting a comprehensive programme of side events comprising special shows and conferences glasstec 2016 will again offer added value for all visitors.

Commenting on this, Dr. Bernd-Holger Zippe, Managing Partner of Zippe GmbH and Chairman of the VDMA Forum Glass Technology, underlines the importance of glasstec as a leading global trade fair: “glasstec is a mirror image of the industry’s innovative power. The fact that everyone shows their top innovations here just underscores its importance.”

Dr. Johann Overath, Director General of the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry (Bundesverband Glasindustrie e.V.) also stresses how high the trade fair ranks for the glass sector as a source of inspiration and information: “As the umbrella organisation of the German glass industry and conceptual sponsor of glasstec we are pleased to also be a part of glasstec again in the trade fair year 2016. For many years the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry (BV Glas) has supported glasstec since it is the leading international trade fair of the sector and the ideal platform for the high-tech material that is glass with its forward-looking innovations.”

glasstec ranks very high for skilled crafts, says Stefan Kieckhöfel, General Manager of BIV, the Federal Association of the German Glazier Trade, and goes on to say: “The unique diversity of glass in the age of the new “smart” glass types combined with know-how, applications, continuous education, ideas and practice is without par worldwide. Especially in view of the re-positioning of glaziers in the glass sector that is currently on the horizon, glasstec 2016 serves as an indicator, source of ideas and a location determinator at the same time.”

The highlight of the trade fair will again be the Special Show “glass technology live” – once more to come under the aegis of Stefan Behling, Senior Executive Partner at Foster & Partners in London, and the team of the IBK 2 of Stuttgart University next year. It will showcase spectacular exhibits, innovative products and pioneering solutions for the next 3 to 5 years. In focus this time will above all be free-form, ultra-thin, solid and informative glass. Participation in the accompanying symposia will again be free for all visitors.

Other planned Special Areas at the trade fair will include the “Zentrum Handwerk/Crafts Centre” with “Craft Live”, the Professional Center Glass + Façade as well as the “glass art” exhibition.

glasstec 2016 will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 20 to 23 September 2016. For information concerning the trade fair visit: www.glasstec.de.
