New Ultra-thin Flexible Screen Technology Comes out!

Post Time:Oct 20,2016Classify:Industry NewsView:929

(ChinaGlass Network) As reported byBritain’s Daily Mail, normal electric screen has a high thickness and power consumption thus this has long been one of the factors hindering the cell-phone development. Recently Swedish researchers have developed a kind of ultra-thin flexible screen technology featuring the following characteristics: 1 micron of thickness; Flexibility easy to be rolled; producing colors relying on reflecting environmental lights and showing good performance even under strong light; only one tenth power consumption of the Kindle. Although this technology is under test, it will not be a long time for its wide application.

Chalmers University of Technology inSwedenfound this new display technology by putting conductive polymers on the nanometer-layer. This Polymer’s photon absorption property can affect color and the color displayed can be adjusted by manual control. That is to say, this new technology can also give support on promoting display resolution-it can be strengthened to molecule level, 2k and 4k are all weak compared with it.

This research result has been published on the academic newspaper of Advanced Materials. Researchers thought that the working operation of this display is the same as the conductive ink water screen of Kindle. Always display uses electricity to light pixel particles while Kindle depends on environment light. Normal screen turns to black color since no other light can rival with sunlight. But Kindle, can still be the elegant with the characteristic of imitating paper display.

With its unique screen property, Kindle only has power consumption when the page is refreshed. The bacteria working life of Kindle remains the bottleneck of technology breakthrough on cell-phone. Researchers show this new technology even has a lower power consumption than the Kindle.
