Małgorzata Bartkowski, Project Manager of RENEXPO® Poland Trade Fair, said “Without a doubt, we can say that the RENEXPO® Poland Trade Fair has become one of the most important events for the renewable energy industry and energy efficiency in Poland. During the three-day lasting fair approximately 4170 guests visited the exhibition stands, an increase of more than 200 people when compared to 2015. In fact, the objective set by the fair organizer a few years ago – creating an international meeting platform for the representatives of RES industry – has become a reality. The fair, on the one hand, presents the potential of renewable energy and chances for its development in Poland. On the other, it helps foreign companies to establish valuable business contacts on the Polish market. Moreover, thanks to a rich program of accompanying events, it makes a valuable source of expertise and allows discussions on important industry topics.”
The Fair began with the official opening ceremony, and included the fair partners and patrons and special guests. Numerous guests were welcomed by Małgorzata Bartkowski and Bartosz Dubiński, CEO of the Mazovia Energy Agency, who mentioned in his speech the important role of renewable energy sources in the energy mix.
103 exhibitors took part in the event, across eight sectors: bioenergy (wood energy, biomass, biogas, biofuels), wind energy, CHP – cogeneration, energy-efficient construction and building renovation, hydropower, heat pumps, geothermal and solar energy. The fair was dominated by photovoltaic cells, heat pumps and hydropower. There were also stands which presented solutions, among others, in the fields of wind energy and geothermal energy, or related to the biogas industry.
As expected at the international trade fair, the exhibitors list included Polish and international companies – from Germany, The Czech Republic, Lithuania, Austria, England, Ukraine, Indonesia and The United States. Many of the exhibitors emphasized the efficient organization of the fair and a high number of visitors, which is of utmost importance during events of this type. Exhibitor Wanda Mech from NOVEAIDEA said “We are very satisfied with the participation in the fair this year. We have established a lot of contacts which we hope will bring desirable results. A great thank you to the trade fair team who stepped up to the challenge and provided efficient service and reliable information, not only during the preliminary talks, but also over the three days of the fair.”
The stand “Together for biogas” was organized for the first time, aiming to present modern technologies in the field of biogas and cogeneration, as well as to enable meetings with the invited experts. It is worth noting that many of the new products had its premiere at RENEXPO®, for example: new constructions of photovoltaic systems on east-west facing flat roofs, free standing systems covered with a special anti-corrosion coating, modern inverters and energy storages; a new generation of inverters with built-in monitoring; modern solutions for wind power stations with gearless technology; an innovative system for energy management for small PV installations. The visitors had equally great interest in test driving of the electric cars of such brands as NISSAN, BMW, Tesla, Mercedes. It was undoubtedly a big attraction during this year's fair.
RENERGY AWARD and the Professional Networking Dinner
On the first day of the fair, October 19, the results of the fifth edition of RENERGY AWARDS competition were announced. The awards were given in two categories: “Innovative Technology of RENEXPO® Poland” and “Distinguished personality of RES sector”. Two companies won in the first category: CORAB Sp. z o.o. and Daikin Airconditioning Poland Sp. z o.o.; and the title of the distinguished personality of RES sector was awarded to Sylwia Koch-Kopyszko from the Union of Producers and Employers of Biogas Industry (UPEBI). The winners were truly happy. Right after receiving the award, Paweł Wiktorowicz, responsible for photovoltaics in Corab, said: It is a great honor for me to receive such a prestigious award as RENERGY AWARD. We honestly did not expect such distinction, especially that this year’s edition of RENEXPO Poland was full of innovative technologies. We are really happy that it was our solution that turned to be the best. Following the announcement of the competition results, the formal professional networking dinner took place, being a good occasion to celebrate the 5th jubilee of the Polish Organization of Heat Pump Technology Development (PORTPC).
Three days full of energy
Each day of the RENEXPO® Poland Trade Fair was accompanied by specialized conferences, congresses and forums which allowed an exchange of knowledge and encouraged the discussion on current issues in the RES industry. Altogether, more than 1360 participants took place in the accompanying events.
The International Conference on Photovoltaics in Poland took place to a full house on the first day of the fair. During the event, experts from photovoltaics associations, representatives of PV industry and state and local authorities discussed, among others, the opportunities and barriers to the development of photovoltaics in our country. On the same day, the audience also took part in the two-day Polish Hydropower Conference which was conducted in the form of an interesting discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing the hydropower sector in Poland. An interesting debate entitled “What is the future of renewable energy in Poland” was an introduction to the conference “The social aspects of RES” and the “Building and energy” forum on the energy-efficient technologies in large format facilities. Following the debate, two important topics were discussed: “New RES technologies and the European energy market” and “The place of RES in ensuring the energy security in Poland". The accompanying events of the first day were concluded with the 6th edition of “Local Government Day”, attended among others by: representatives of Marshall's Offices, city halls and communes, as well as representatives of companies involved in the generation and transmission of energy.
The second trade fair day was filled with such events as e.g. Congress of Polish Organization of Heat Pump Technology Development and Biogas Forum. The latter one sought answers to some important questions – “Is the entry into force of the law on RES going to encourage the creation of new biogas plants? What will be the chances for small biogas plants in the new legal environment? How to build profitable biogas plants?” The visitors also had a great interest in the international congress on the energy storage in Poland. Additionally, on the same day in the career area “Now environment” they could learn about the situation of the RES sector in the Polish and global job market.
The third day of the fair started with the PV Forum which was followed by the conference: “Biofuels on the way to decarbonize transport. The latest trends and challenges facing the industry”. The fair program ended with the Congress of Energy-Efficient Construction and Building Certification and the conference “The future of Polish biomass and using the heat from RES in practice”.
Cooperative meetings
The chance to participate in the "Cooperative meetings" planned for the first and second day of the fair was a good opportunity for networking. The meetings were attended by entrepreneurs looking for professional partners and suppliers from the broadly defined energy sector, in particular those active in the field of renewable energy sources and energy efficient buildings. Easily and quickly, “Cooperative meetings” enabled establishing valuable business contracts to parties looking for each other. Altogether the number of 55 meetings took place.
The next edition of RENEXPO® Poland Trade Fair will be held on 25-27 October 2017 in the Expocentre EXPO XXI in Warsaw. Packages and discounts for exhibition stands for 2017 are available. www.renexpo-warsaw.com
