How to Choose the Glass Type?

(ChinaGlass Network) Glass can be classified into various kinds of types according to different technical processing. The most majority of furniture used glass includes flat glass, float glass, depolished glass, figures glass and colored glass and so forth.

 

They are widely used in housing decoration from façade windows to interior screen, windows and doors.

 

Normal Flat Glass

5-6mm glass, mostly applied in small space façade windows, doors.

Tempered Glass

It is a kind of press glass processed from flat glass. The thickness and strength of extension of the former one is several times and five times of that of the latter one. The tempered glass is not easy to be broken. It will fall in a manner of no-acute angle particles even it is broken.

Frosted Glass

It is also made frosting deep-processing based on the flat glass. The thickness usually is less than 9mm, mostly 5mm or 6mm.

Sand Blasting Glass

The properties of sand blasting glass is similar to that of frosting glass. One of the differences is froting instead of sand blasting. Since they look the same on the surface many users mix them during decoration.

Patterned Glass

It is a kind of flat glass made through technique of rolling. The most obvious property of patterned glass is non-transparent with high transmissivity, mainly applied in bathrooms.

Wired Glass

As for this kind of glass, metal wire or metal net are inserted into the glass sheet to increase the property of shock resistance. It will only cause radial cracks but no damages to human beings when it is in a crash., mostly adopted in high buildings and concussive factories.

Insulated Glass

Usually we put two glass sheets together with a certain space by cementing. Inside the space is dry air, which will be sealed by sealant, mostly applied in projects with high sound proof requirement.

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is made up of two flat glass (tempered glass or other special glass can also be applied) and organic cementing layer. When it is damaged, the broken glass still sticks to the cementing layer to avoid hurt to human beings caused from splashing cullet, mostly applied in building projects with high safety requirement.

Hot Bending Glass

It is a kind of curving glass made from annealing after heat softening and module formality. Most hot bending glass is used in high-end decoration in a way of pre-booking.
