Learn about China flat glass market in December 2008

According to the statistics of China Building Materials Federation and China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association, the total output of flat glass is 574.23 million weight cases in December 2008, up 5.1% year-on-year; the total sales-output ratio of flat glass is 97.47%, down 0.9%, in which the ratio of float glass is 97.44%, down 0.4% year-on-year.

Float glass output of 58 key float glass manufacturers totally amounts to 395.17 million weight cases, and sales volume to 388.19 million weight cases. Till December 31, 2008, the stocks are 28.15 million weight cases. Here are provinces of the most stocks: Hebei, 7.64 million weight cases; Shandong, 3.73 million weight cases; Fujian, 2.62 million weight cases; Guangdong, 1.7 million weight cases; Shanxi and Yunnan, 1.61 million weight cases.

The average weighted sales price of those float glass manufacturers is 63.21 yuan/weight case, down 6.82 yuan/weight case from last month and 15.75 yuan/weight case from last year.

In December 2008, the total export volume of flat glass is 250.17 million square meters, down 12.8% over the same period of last year; the export value is 825.87 million USD, increased by 9.2%. Export volume of float glass is 215.12 million square meters, dropped by 11.6%, with 766.98 million USD of export value which is increased by 9.8%.
