Centennial College - Student Residence & Culinary Arts Centre

AGC Glass North America provided 30,000 sq. ft. of Energy Select 28 and 35,000 sq. ft. of Energy Select R42 for the spandrel glazing for this project.

As part of their 50th anniversary celebration and the first publicly funded college in Ontario, the Centennial College in Scarborough, Ontario (Canada) unveiled their new Culinary Arts Centre and Student Residence (named Centennial Place) in November 2016. 

This new 353,500-square-foot 8-story hybrid building combines residence and academic space, breaking the tradition for post-secondary student housing in Canada.

It is registered by Diamond Schmitt Architects to obtain LEED Silver certification for sustainable design, for high-efficiency glazing and walls, green roof, and water-saving technologies. 

AGC Glass North America provided 30,000 sq. ft. of Energy Select 28 and 35,000 sq. ft. of Energy Select R42 for the spandrel glazing for this project, which will provide excellent solar blocking performance (0.28 SHGC) and high visible light transmission (62% VLT).
