A frame glass trolleys by Hird

We all like an unsung hero. In the world of glass installation there are very few pieces of glass lifting equipment more unsung than an A frame trolley.

Perhaps a lifting sling. But that is another matter. There is nothing sophisticated about A frame trolleys. You hardly notice they are there. But boy do you need them!

That is why we’re making the A frame trolley our Product of the Month for May.

We will not dwell here on our super-cool Winlet glazing robots. There will be no mentions of our latest Hydraulica 1500 curved vacuum lifter (you just have – Ed). The hugely impressive GML 800+ material lift must wait for now.

So, let’s take a look at our A frame glazing trolley hire options here at Hird. Our aim, as always, is to supply the kit needed to get every glass installation project completed safely and productively.

That means we have an excellent range of A frame trolleys in different sizes and designs. In that way, our Product of the Month for May is, in fact, at least 10 glass lifting products.

A frame trolleys are designed to allow glazing contractors to get glass sheets through work sites safely to the point where they are then lifted into place and installed.

Therefore, they need to be robust, stable, safe, simple to use, and manoeuvrable, so they can be positioned precisely both for loading and lifting purposes. Within our A frame trolley range, we have:

  • Heavy duty glass trolley. This A frame trolley has a 1000kg capacity and can handle a maximum sheet thickness of 100mm. It’s fully adjustable for glass sizes between 2 metres and 3.5 metres, and comes with supporting rods for loads up to 6 metres.

  • High-sided A-frame buggy trolley. This trolley, or stillage, is designed specifically for taking larger glass sheets. It has a maximum lifting capacity of 1500kg, and is easily moved with a steering castor.

  • Single-sided slab buggy. Pcitured above on the right, this A frame trolley has a maximum capacity of 400kg, and a maximum glass slab thickness of 280mm. Maximum glass slab dimensions are 1360mm high and 1300mm long. It’s designed to be stable but compact enough to fit inside a small van.

Finally, there is our ultra-narrow glass trolley, Pictured bellow. It is not, strictly speaking, an A frame trolley. But its unique design and capabilities most definitely make it worth a mention.

The ultra-narrow glass trolley is designed to aid the installation of glass sheets in confined spaces, for example where scaffolding might obstruct glazing apertures. It also has an impressive 700kg capacity, and can be steered from both ends.

Our A frame glass trolley hire options are available across the UK from our three regional operational hubs.
