As one of the three synthetic materials, Synthetic rubber is a kind of high flexibility polymer which is also called synthetic elastomer. Its output is just a little lower than synthetic resin (plastic) and synthetic fiber. Rubber is the indispensible material applied in the manufacture of airplane, warship, cars, tractor, reaping machine, irrigation works, and medical instruments and so on. According to resource, rubber can be divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Only a few kinds of synthetic rubbers’ property are similar to that of natural rubber while the majority is different. Even though, both them are high elastic polymer becoming useful after vulcanization and processing. Synthetic rubber was begun to manufacture since early 20 century and hava had a rapid good development from early 40 century. However, synthetic rubber’s property is not as comprehensive as that of natural rubber even if it has high elasticity, insulation, air tightness, oil-resistance, high temperature resistance and are widely used in agriculture, industry, national defense, transport and daily life.

In recent years, synthetic rubber industry has developed in a way full of joyful fruits and it is going to capture an important part in national economy with increasingly expanded scale. Rubber industry has going to leading list no matter in terms of annual production volume or consumption volume.

China’s synthetic rubber volume was 4.97 million tons with a growth rate of 0.25 in May, 2017 while the total capacity from January to May way 22.99 million tons increasing by 7.9%.
