Emplas’ major extension of its manufacturing facility remains on course for completion this autumn with the steel superstructure and roof now in place.

Adding around 18,000 sq ft to Emplas’ current 50,000 sq ft factory, the new development will create new factory floor space, loading bays and offices.

John Leary, Sales and Marketing Director, Emplas, said that build was a key element in Emplas’ continuing growth strategy.

“The extension is a very visible indication of the investment that we’re making in product and service innovation but it’s just the tip of the iceberg of a far larger investment programme.

“This has included major investment in new machinery but also the integration of our manufacturing and IT infrastructures with those of customer services and client software tools, so that everything is connected, continually improving the service and support offer to our customers.”

Emplas has made significant strides forward in its service offer, developing the Emplas Virtual Assistant (EVA) Portal. This facility now forms a critical part of the service offering to its customers, with order tracking capability right up to the point of delivery.

“It’s about making systems and processes more transparent and through that, improving the quality of service we can offer to our customers”, continues Leary.

“We’re doing that by exploiting technology and IT but also through investment in machinery but also people.”

Emplas announced at the beginning of the year that it had created a dedicated six-strong estimating department, driving faster turnaround on quotes, and therefore orders, as part of a commitment to drive increased service to its customers.

Leary said: “In addition to the creation of our new quotation team dedicated customer services support means that Emplas customers get a single point of contact with on tap access to technical or any other support that they require from us.

“Technology is a big part of how we’re moving forward but we’ve not forgotten that people buy from people. We’re investing in our team and that requires space, which is why the extension of our facilities is so important to our longer-term growth”, he concludes.
