Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT): Household Appliances in High Production

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published its latest statistics which showed that total capacity of household refrigerator from January to May reached 39.496 million with a growth rate of 10.5% against the same period last year, while that of room air controller captured 82.523 million increasing by 19% compared with 2016. Furthermore, the number of washing machine was 31.436 million increasing by 4.4%.

These were the detailed capacity information about each kind of appliance in May:

Refrigerator: 8.485 million, growing by 6.3%;

Room air controller: 18.706 million, a growth rate of 26.6%;

Washing machine: 5.867 million, increasing by 2.6%

Sales ratio from January to May:

Household appliance industry: 95.5%, increasing by 0.5% with an export volume of 172.33 billion yuan, a growth rate of 13.9%.

Sales ratio in May:

Household appliance industry: 95.4%, increasing by 1.2% with an export volume of 37.94 billion yuan, a growth rate of 13.2%.

Additionally, prime operating revenue of household appliance seized 642.98 billion yuan in May with a growth rate of 15.9% against last year while the profit was 39.02 billion yuan increasing by 9.6%.
