$170 million contract signed for 5 towers at Expo 2020 site

Dubai World Trade Centre has awarded a $170 million (AED619 mn) contract to UAE’s HLG Contracting to build five 16-storey towers at the Expo Village.

HLG Contracting LLC has been awarded a contract valued at AED 619 million (AUD 224 million) by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for the construction of the EXPO Village Parcels 10 & 11 residential towers, developed and managed by DWTC. 


HLG will be responsible for the construction of five 16-storey towers. Three of the towers are co-joined through a mutual 3-storey podium, and the other two towers are also co-joined through a shared 3-storey podium. The total development has a total built-up area of 155,000 m2.


The works include the concrete frames, masonry, facades, fit-out, external works, and provisional sums for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing, wardrobes, kitchen, timber doors, lifts and façade cleaning system.


Construction will commence in July 2017, and is due to be completed by June 2019, in time to host guests and participants from the countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, which opens in October 2020.
