Astiglass chose LiSEC not only because of the well-known technology and quality, but also because of the good cooperation and the technical service.

Astiglass, a leading company in the processing and distribution of glass, has its origins in the early 60’s, when Donato Aliaga, father of the current owners, founded a small glass workshop. Today it counts 119 employees and offers a wide range of products and sizes.

On the route between the two Spanish cities Sevilla and Córdoba the headquarters of Astiglass are located. Astiglass offers efficient solutions for architecture, engineering and interior decorating.

It is fully in the hands of the family Aliaga, the brothers Manuel and Lorenzo and their sister Maria Jesús took over the company management from their father in 2005.

On a production area of more than 26,000m2 they produce double glazing, tempered, laminated, coated and fireproof glass elements as well as decoration and serigraphy.

“In the field of flat glass processing we can do everything that is possible. We offer glass elements in big dimensions, up to 6,000 x 3,210 mm, which is exceptional for Spain”, says Manuel Aliaga, General Manager of Astiglass.

The cooperation with LiSEC began in the year 2000. They chose LiSEC not only because of the well-known technology and quality, but also because of the good cooperation and the technical service.

Quality

To match their slogan ‘transparent quality’ Astiglass puts emphasis on getting their products certified. The global ISO 9001, together with their personal commitment to quality, ensure an added guarantee to their clients.

Especially for the French market they got the CEKAL certification. Maria Jesús Aliaga emphasizes the importance of getting certificated: “We are always eager to get certificates for our products which are an added value for the different markets we serve. We can provide the best quality with the elements we produce with our LiSEC machines.”

Markets

Astiglass’ export rate amounts to 40%. They had projects, among others, in Germany, Russia and the Netherlands but the main external market they serve is Panama.

Due to the economic crisis in 2008 they had to find new business opportunities, so they established an office in Panama to approach the Latin American market in 2013. “One of our diversification strategies is to enter new markets internationally. The more markets, the better”, states Manuel Aliaga.

Communication

“In order to fulfill the needs of our customers better, we highly value a structural internal communication. It is essential to us, to have close relationships with our customers, the same applies to our cooperation with LiSEC: We appreciate the direct and close contact with LiSEC and also their geographical proximity. If an important issue occurs, they are able to respond very quickly”, the owners agree on the importance of a comprehensive communication.

Projects

From shopping malls to prisons, hospitals and airports, Astiglass has a large range of references in Spain and many other countries.

They were involved in the construction of one of the Hilton Hotels in Mexico, shops of the Indidex group in all Europe and the sport center of Real Madrid just to name a few of them.

The project which they are most proud of is the construction of the Nevada Shopping Center in Granada, which opened in 2016 after two years building time. All the glass was provided by Astiglass.

Innovation

For the building of structural facades made of glass, Astiglass changed the sealing depth of the IG units from 11 mm standard to 21 mm. In order to make this possible, LiSEC modified the sealing robot VL-1N half a year ago.

Due to the deeper sealing, aluminium or silicon joints can be placed. That significantly improves the acoustic insulation of the breaks and provides additional tightening features.

Future

They notice the trend that glass is more and more used for construction, both inside and outside. The required size of glass sheets is increasing as well as the demand for sun, sound and fire proof elements.

“We have big plans for our company to grow. LiSEC is an important part of our future developments. We count on LiSEC for helping us realize our growth plans.” Manuel Aliaga is enthusiastic about future developments.
