Aluminium manufacturing and installation company AB Glass has been appointed by Kier Construction to provide its services as part of the development of a technology park and advanced manufacturing workspace on the outskirts of St Austell, Cornwall.
Funding has been secured to develop the Carluddon Technology Park and Employment Space for Advanced Manufacture (ESAM), which aims to attract high-value businesses and provide high-skilled jobs, which will help bolster new opportunities in Cornwall.
AB Glass began providing its installation services to the project during November 2017. The aluminium system being installed by the company for the project include Kawneer AA100 curtain walling, and AA720 windows and doors. The contract value is worth £280,000 to the Swansea-based company.
The Carluddon Technology Park is expected to be completed in summer 2018 and will offer up to 8,500m2 of high quality workspace facilities.
Nigel Harvey, operations director at AB Glass, commented:
“Carluddon Technology Park is a fantastic development for the Cornwall area and we are thrilled to be contributing to its development. This project also marks our continuing relationship with Kier Construction, who we are proud to be working with once again on such an impressive development. Our commitment to our clients, along with many years’ experience on large construction sites, means we are able to continue to deliver an optimum service to such projects.”
The Carluddon Technology Park development adds to a number of projects AB Glass has carried out for Kier Construction during 2017. Kier also enlisted the company for works on the new Trago Mills store in Merthyr Tydfil, Callywith College in Cornwall and the new University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) campus in Swansea.
