BOLD Laser Automation’s GS9900 Perihelion™ Thin Glass Laser Cutting System provides glass fabricators laser processing options for thin glass applications using laser cutting techniques.

BOLD Laser AutomationTM, has announced the release of its GS9900 Perihelion™ Thin Glass Laser Cutting System to address the accelerating thin glass processing requirements of glass fabricators serving the automotive, architectural, and consumer market segments.

The GS9900 Perihelion™ Thin Glass Laser Cutting System provides glass fabricators laser processing options for thin glass applications using laser cutting techniques, with a low cost-of-ownership entry point. Glass fabricators can quickly implement a precision laser cutting technology to process thin glass materials, including chemically hardened, from a wider variety of suppliers.

The GS9900 Perihelion™ outfitted with several laser process configurations, capable of processing 2.3x3.3m panel sizes, up to 5m long, from 0.3mm to 2mm in thickness. Outfitted with either a femtosecond or picosecond laser option the system can provide filamentation and direct laser ablation glass processing of a variety of glass materials including, alkali-free thin boro-aluminosilicate, soda lime, ultra-thin aluminosilicate and other alkali-aluminosilicate thin glass.

Early market adoption of the GS9900 Perihelion™ Thin Glass Laser Cutting System has allowed the BOLD team to qualify the system by processing glass in a semi-automated manufacturing operation. The GS9900 Series has yielded consistent quality in this production environment.

BOLD's integrated laser and automation solutions are industrially hardened, production qualified and tailored to support customer business and innovation goals.

BOLD Laser Automation is an innovative producer of laser-based manufacturing solutions for thin glass, microelectronic packaging, and micro-machining.
