Around 2500 old PVC window profiles will be collected and recycled mechanically.
In Schweinfurt a major construction project has been initiated. Until 2019 a former US colony, now owned by the municipality, will be largely dismantled and demolished. This includes 34 three-story buildings and the 13 twin houses.
In this context around 2500 old PVC window profiles will be collected and recycled mechanically. The recyclate is a valuable secondary resource and can be re-introduced into new PVC window profiles.
In Germany, the collection and recycling of old windows is organized by EPPA’s member Rewindo. Rewindo and similar controlled loop mechanisms allow for the continued use of PVC, fully in line with the aims of the Circular Economy.
