Increasing digitalization on the path to Industry 4.0 optimizes communication between market partners while providing important advantages for participating companies. An example of this is the increasing networking of construction element manufacturers with their suppliers.
A+W Cantor systematically integrates the online configurators of suppliers to the window and door industry – for roller shades, sun shades, insect screens, door inserts, and more. The configurators of Roma, Warema, Obuk, Rodenberg, and Adeco have been incorporated into A+W Cantor.
Previously, construction element manufacturers had to maintain—and keep up-to-date— the master data, conditions, technical restrictions, etc. for supplier products in their ERP to ensure error-free orders. There was a lot of maintenance required due to ongoing changes in products and pricing.
The integration of supplier online configurators reduces the amount of master data required for construction element manufacturers. Today, the market partner's configurator can be accessed directly from A+W Cantor order entry. The product is configured in the supplier's webshop and the technical data is transferred seamlessly into A+W Cantor – including a picture.
In this way, the supplier's current product line is always available. Order processing is optimized since each product configuration is checked technically and can be built. Orders are placed electronically, are error-free, and contain all characteristics required as purchase conditions.
The special feature as compared to other providers' solutions: the integration of the external configurators can not only be implemented in the construction element manufacturer's ERP system, but also in the dealer software and, a special treat, in the A+W iQuote Webshop.
Therefore, users of the Webshop, a slim entry tool that is being used more and more by trade partners and producers, can enjoy all the important advantages of the 'big' entry systems.
Entry is done directly from the A+W Cantor system – regardless of whether on the producer's PC or via A+W iQuote on the dealer's mobile end user device: with a few clicks, the exterior blinds, insect screens or desired door inserts are added to the currently entered construction element.
Maik Grasmäher, authorized agent, who is responsible for EDP at the Hessian construction element manufacturer Feroment, currently integrates the Roma configurator: "The integration saves us a lot of work, for previously we had to maintain the extensive Roma product line by ourselves. In the future, entry of our partners' products will be much easier, more fluid, and secure thanks to seamless integration into A+W Cantor."
Digital communication - real-time access to the supplier's data
Error-free order entry - what is captured is also buildable
Use of partner master data - no tedious creation of your own master data
Low maintenance effort
Integration of the external configurators even in the webshop A+W iQuote
