Domestic photovoltaic industry has developed rapidly in less than ten years and has transformed from totally relying on imports to independently producing photovoltaic glass in the world since China broke through the technical threshold of photovoltaic glass production in 2006. More than 90% of the crystal silicon components in the world adopt photovoltaic glass made in China. The quality and cost of photovoltaic glass in China have been obviously superior to those of foreign enterprises. Date back to December, 2017, the domestic ultra-white rolled glass producers totaled 24 including 40 furnaces and 135 production lines with the total production capacity of 21290 tons / day. According to the industry average yield level of 78%, the domestic output of the original sheet of ultra-white rolled glass is about 14773.20 tons per day. Leading enterprises are mainly Xinyi Solar, Flat Glass, Caihong Group. South Glass Group, AVIC Sanxin (Bengbu Bu), Ancai Hi-tech and other enterprises.

From January to November, 2017, the export volume of photovoltaic glass in China was 1.6656 million tons, an increase of 7.56 tons over the same period last year. It should be pointed out that if the photovoltaic glass exported in the form of photovoltaic modules is also counted. China's main export markets are Japan, the United States, Europe, South Korea and other international markets.
