A range of new products from award winning company Glazesafe are providing employees that work at height with efficient safety measures to prevent scaffolding injuries.

Both of the brand’s products, Sashmate and Stronghold, are carefully designed to improve protective measures and reduce the number of workers that are affected by injuries and accidents in the construction industry every year.

In the UK alone, there were 30 fatal accidents to construction workers in 2016/171 and, in the last five years, almost half of all fatalities within the sector were related to falls from height.

Working at height also presents non-fatal dangers for workers too, with over 900 injuries occurring as a result of accidents in 2016/17. It’s a workplace hazard that the team behind Glazesafe is working to eliminate through the creation and manufacture of unique and accessible tools.

Daniel Cheddie, Director of Glazesafe and Lead Designer, said, “There are thousands of workers across the UK and around the globe that currently need to work at height and they deserve to have the upmost protection when they’re completing vital jobs. Many fatalities and injuries can be avoided with innovative products that put safety first. At Glazesafe, it’s our mission to deliver the tools that can really make a difference to the fatality and injury figures that plague the industry.”

Two Glazesafe products have already hit the global market, being sold as far afield as Australia, and are providing protection to thousands of workers around the world. The brand’s flagship product, Sashmate, is unique, industry recommended, and adheres to codes of practices for working from height.

The forward-thinking tool allows professionals to carry out repairs to aluminium, wooden, and uPVC windows from inside the building. Not only does it instantly improve safety, but it reduces costs by eliminating the need to use ladders or scaffolding for external access. Taking just seconds to set up, Sashmate reduces the time jobs take to complete too.

Alongside Sashmate, Glazesafe also offers lightweight Stronghold, an inventive, versatile fast erect mobile anchor points and barrier system. Designed to minimise the need for costly access equipment, the ingenious product can save businesses millions of pounds every year while improving worker safety standards in a range of settings.
