As a colorful highlight the new tram station in Linz snuggles up between the modern shopping center and the grey residential complex. Here, almost 1.400m2 of colored laminated safety glass protect the waiting passengers from wind, weather and the adjoining street.
For this new tram station in Linz (Austria), TG-PROTECT®color as double laminates on the façade and triple laminates in the roof, processed with amber yellow PVB colored film was used in order to ensure a optimum weather protection for the passengers.
Each of those 336 panes were individually made to measure and installed linear stored by using clamping profiles. While the front side is similar to a ski jumping hill, the back side also has a special feature: The round panes that were installed there, have a diameter of 2.600mm.
But also the laminates at the roof have a considerable size with 2.480 x 2.480mm. A pleasant amount of light is coming into the station through the colorful glass units so that one doesn’t have the feeling of being trapped underground compared to other subway stations. At the same time, the laminated safety glass provides a partition to the street and therefore provides the necessary protection for the waiting passengers.
