The opening of the business dinner program, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Glasstec exhibition, was realized by a presentation prepared by Mrs. Birgit Horn, Director of the international specialized exhibition Glasstec-2018 / Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.
In her speech Mrs. Birgit Horn informed the guests about the scale of the forthcoming event, emphasizing the special attention to the number and diversity of the participants. At present, 6 Russian companies are declared to be part of the exhibitors, with the exception of the collective stand of StekloSouz of Russia. The total area of the exhibition will be 65,000 sq.m.
Mr. Thomas Wellendorf, HEGLA Sales Director for North, Eastern and Southern Europe, made a presentation on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Industry 4.0 - the transition to a fully automated digital production, controlled by intelligent systems in real time in constant interaction with the external environment, going beyond the boundaries of one enterprise, with the prospect of merging into the global industrial network of Things and Services.
In the narrow sense, Industry 4.0 (Industrie 4.0) is the name of one of 10 projects of the state Hi-Tech strategy of Germany until 2020, describing the concept of smart manufacturing based on the global industrial network of Internet Services and Services (Internet of Things and Services) .
In a broad sense, Industry 4.0 characterizes the current trend in the development of automation and data exchange, which includes Internet Things and cloud computing. It represents a new level of organization of production and management of the value chain throughout the life cycle of the products.
As is known, since 2000 the Russian Federal Industry Association has been actively participating in the world glass exhibition "Glasstec". The Presidium of the SSR adopted a decision in 2018, once again, as a collective stand, to represent the interests of the members of the organization.
Osipov Viktor Ivanovich - President of the StekloSouz of Russia made a report on the state of the domestic glass industry. In his speech, Viktor Ivanovich outlined the comparative characteristics of production capacities for the period 2000 - 2018.
In many respects, thanks to the active and systematic participation of StekloSouz of Russia in the world exhibition No. 1, plant managers were able to modernize the domestic glass industry for the period from 2000 to 2018 by 100 percent.
The exhibition is a window in scientific and technological progress. Despite the crisis, the leaders of the glass plants with cautious optimism are looking to the future, both the Russian market and the countries of near and far abroad.
Further discussion proceeded in a question-and-answer format. Representatives of companies, potential participants of the "Glasstec" exhibition, made their suggestions and wishes, which will be taken into account, if possible, by the organizers. The presentation ended with a video demonstration, which clearly demonstrated the scale of the upcoming event - the exhibition Glasstec - 2018.
For StekloSoyuz of Russia, the exhibition "Glasstec - 2018" is the jubilee - the 10th. The experience of previous years shows that the participation of the federal Industry structure gives a good economic result for the development of the glass industry in Russia.
