Heilongjiang Province Advocates Low-E Energy Saving Glass in Construction Application

(China Glass Network) The promotion meeting for Low-E energy saving glass in construction application was held in Jiamusi city, Heilongjiang Province, yesterday. Aimed to advocate wide usage of Low-E energy saving glass in construction applications, experts announce promotion indexes and application requests by introducing “Residential Building 65 percent plus Energy Saving Standards”

According to experts, Low-E glass possesses advantages regarding high reflection ratio of far infrared ray, relatively low emissivity rate, and good light transmission, when compared with common glass. Fully employed by public buildings, Low-E glass provides shades in summer and keep warm in winter, which not only facilitates to cut down expenses on air conditions and heating, but also offers comfortable living environment. Introduced by Housing and Construction Department of Heilongjiang province, because of living in cold weather, energy consumption in construction sector is higher than national average level. With quick speed of ecological civilization construction, it is necessary to enhance energy saving criterion in construction fields, to reduce building energy consumption and to boost energy saving and emission reduction. It is an effective measure to encourage construction industry for extensively using Low-E glass, which improves energy saving starting from doors and windows.

Influenced by energy saving standards and economic conditions, Low-E glass is widely employed in South China, while it is still at the initial stage for North China. With increasing from residential housing consumption and decreasing production costs of Low-E glass, it gradually expands its application scope from large public buildings and middle or high end residential buildings to common civil buildings.

During the meeting, two enterprises in Heilongjiang province introduced their Low-E coating glass productions.
