Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) Group’s windshield head-up display (HUD) technology will be included in the 2019 GMC Sierra and 2019 Chevrolet Silverado models. Both vehicles will now have a 3 inch by 7 inch multi-color HUD.
According to the company, these are the first full-sized trucks offering this type of advanced technology. This advancement projects customizable, key vehicle information on the windshield within the driver’s line of sight, according to the company.
“NSG’s recent investments have made us ready to respond to our customer’s expanding needs generated by the rapidly advancing technology for driving assistance systems, such as HUD,” the company said in a release.
NSG says its press bending technology supports the production of complex-shaped, laminated windshields with HUD, an increasingly popular option among new cars. “The launch of the all new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado models are just one example of NSG Group’s global effort to meet current and future customer demands in the automotive glass market,” the company said in a release.
