Glass Technology Services (GTS) will introduce courses for 2019 due to increasing requests from clients throughout the supply chain.
The glass technology and consultancy provider will host and organise the following two courses:
The one-day ‘PharmaGlass’ workshops will introduce how glass as a primary pharmaceutical packaging is made and processed, as well as tubular and moulded glassware, quality control and common defects and failures. The workshops are scheduled for 6th March and 9th October 2019.
‘Glass failure analysis’ courses will include: an introduction to glass strength; understanding and interpreting fracture markings; recognising fracture markings; recognising fracture patterns; identification of failure origins and an analytical approach to understanding the mode of failure; weakening features and primary and secondary causes of product failure. The three-day courses will take place on 16-18th April and 15-17th October 2019.
GTS will also deliver the following three courses on behalf of British Glass:
The one-day courses, ‘Glass appreciation – an introduction to glass’ will include glass processes, products, properties and environmental considerations. The courses are scheduled for 26th March and 10th September 2019.
‘An introduction to glass packaging’ will include the glass manufacturing process, recycling and environment, quality control, glass specifications and performance, packaging design and decoration. The one-day courses will take place on 26th February and 9th September 2019.
‘Fundamentals of Glass’ is a series of training sessions covering fundamental glass chemistry and theory, composition, glass durability, melting properties and colour, defects and inclusions and carrying out correct annealing. The sessions are scheduled for 8th May and 13th November 2019.
