Blue Star Glass Wins the First Prize for Progress in Science and Technology

The online-coating Low-E and TiO2 laminated film glass technology and equipment of Weihai Blue Star Glass Holding Co., Ltd won the First Prize of China Building Material Industry for Progress in Science and Technology. The award was given by China Building Materials Federation and the Chinese Ceramic Society.

This online-coating Low-E glass technology breaks the technical monopoly of two America-based and UK-based companies, and makes Blue Star Glass the third company owning the core independent intellectual property of this technology.

The online-coating Low-E glass project was co-developed by Blue Star Glass and Zhejiang University from 2001. Lasting for about 8 years from developing, pilot test and industrializing, the project cost about 100 million yuan. It was successfully put into production in 2007 and achieved the output of 500,000 weight cases in 2008, gaining 140 million yuan of sales revenue and 14 million yuan of profit. It became a main source of profit growth for the company.
